Freedom Repeat

Good morning all.  Today is like most days in the Northeast lately - snow again.  We're expecting another 4" to 6".  The problem is, where do you put it?  My card uses three different challenges:  The Paper Players Challenge #183 (clean and simple using stars); Sunday Stamps Color Challenge; One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #2 - repetition.  This card will go into my Operation Write Home box to be used as a hero card.  A hero card is one that is included with the cards you send but is meant for a  military person serving in that location.  They can be words of encouragement, funny stories, etc., anything that might lift the spirits of the person receiving it.

I chose Whisper White card stock as the base.  The word freedom from the Words of Courage stamp set was stamped along the bottom using Garden Green and Crumb Cake inks.  My trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig made lining these up very easy.  I then stamped the star from the same stamp set using Daffodil Delight ink (and the Stamp-a-ma-jig).
Because the design is a clean and simple one, I decided to add an outline to help set off the stamped images.  I cut a scrap piece of card stock to the size I wanted and used temporary adhesive to hold it in place.  A Basic Black marker was used to draw around it.  When I came to any part of the image I just moved to the other side to continue the line.  For a finishing touch, I added Garden Green and Crumb Cake candy dots to the center of the stars.  You might say the "stars were aligned" when it came to these three challenges.  (Yes, corny I know; must be all this snow messing with my head).  If you are interested in donating any of your surplus cards to a very worthy organization, please check out the Operation Write Home website here.  Well, enjoy the rest of the day.  Hope the sun is shining where you are; send some our way.

I think this is such a clever use of your sentiment. The combination of word and star does look like candles which works in with your theme of freedom.
